What a title is

A title is easy to give yourself. It takes a business card and a few seconds. What it doesn't come with is the part that matters: the decisions, and their consequences.

What counts instead

Three questions are more useful than any label. What are you actually answering for? Who's affected if it goes wrong? Would you still do the work if nobody called you anything?

Freedom means taking ownership of the decisions and the consequences.

A working rule

This isn't theory, it's a rule for the day-to-day: whoever decides stays close to the work and carries the consequences. The title goes on the website afterwards.
